Big Bear Mountain Resort (BBMR) is Southern California’s premier year-round alpine destination, with skiing/snowboarding and snow tubing in the winter and mountain biking, hiking, and golf in the summer.

Operations at BBMR this winter will differ from previous seasons. To provide the best experience possible while accounting for the wellbeing of our guests, employees, and community, several new policies will be in place for the 20/21 season. Save time and money by booking in advance. Lift tickets, lessons, and equipment rentals are available for purchase online or by calling 844.GO2.BEAR.

NOTE: Lesson times and rental equipment may be limited during peak and holiday periods.

All guests must have a valid lift ticket, season pass, or reservation to receive gated entry access to the Bear Mountain or Snow Summit base areas this winter. Anyone attempting to access the base areas without a valid lift ticket, season pass, or reservation, if applicable, will be denied entry.

Tire traction devices such as tire chains/cables may be required when traveling to/from the mountains if snow or icy conditions exist. You should always carry chains in your vehicle during the winter months, even if your car has snow tires. Tire traction devices are defined in the California Vehicle Code (VC) Section 605.

Check dot.ca.go for chain requirements before heading to/from the mountains.

PARKING

Big Bear Mountain has several on-site and remote parking lots for guests visiting our twin properties – Bear Mountain and Snow Summit. We highly recommend turning off your GPS upon entering the Big Bear Valley and following posted signage and BBMR staff directions to ensure your vehicle is parked as quickly as possible.

NOTE: Parking in BBMR lots is reserved for guests participating in on-hill activities only. Paid parking will be extended to all BBMR lots – including remote lots – on weekends (Friday-Sunday) and holidays during the 20/21 season. View full pricing & lot locations.

INTER-MOUNTAIN SHUTTLE

BBMR offers free shuttle service between the Bear Mountain and Snow Summit base areas every 30 minutes on select dates throughout the season. Leave your car in the parking lot and take the free 10-minute shuttle ride between Bear Mountain and Snow Summit. View full details and schedule.

MOUNTAIN TRANSIT

The local transit agency, Mountain Transit, operates daily throughout the Big Bear Valley, with scheduled stops at the Bear Mountain and Snow Summit base areas during the winter.

Guests staying in the Village can ride Mountain Transit to/from Bear Mountain and Snow Summit for free with a valid 2020/21 lift ticket, BBMR season pass, or Ikon Pass.

Big Bear Mountain Resort operates two properties – Bear Mountain and Snow Summit – that are located 2 miles apart. Expand to read more about each mountain and find the best fit for you. Or, experience both mountains in the same day with a valid lift ticket. .

BEAR MOUNTAIN

Renowned for its award-winning terrain parks and après atmosphere, Bear Mountain has the only halfpipes, highest lift-served peak (8,805 feet), and largest beginner area in Southern California. Bear Mountain also hosts multiple events each winter, including can't-miss concerts, photoshoots, film premieres, and on-hill competitions.

SNOW SUMMIT

Known for having wide open runs and ... Snow Summit has over 240 acres of skiable terrain, as well as the Grizzly Ridge Tube Park, and Night Sessions on select dates.

2020/21 PASSHOLDERS OR ADVANCE RESERVATION


To reduce congestion in the Bear Mountain and Snow Summit base areas, BBMR offers direct-to-lift gate access for season passholders and guests with advance purchase reservations. Guests with advance purchase reservations can easily access their direct-to-lift ticket during their visit through the BBMR Mobile App, email confirmation, or by going to the Reservations page. Check-in at the gates.

To avoid crowds, we recommend heading to the gates located near the Adventure Academy at Snow Summit and the staircase to the left of Silver Mountain Eatery at Bear Mountain to check-in.

RENTAL RESERVATIONS


Guests with advance rental reservations should proceed directly to the designated rental shop at Bear Mountain or Snow Summit indicated in their reservation confirmation to check-in, even if lessons are included in your reservation. Your lessons voucher will be printed at the rental shop.

LESSON RESERVATIONS


Guests with advance lesson reservations with a season pass or lift ticket should proceed directly to the ticket windows at Bear Mountain or Snow Summit to check-in and receive a lessons voucher.

NO RESERVATION


Guests without a lift ticket, lesson, or rental reservation need to purchase online. Guests that need to redeem Passholder benefits, military discounts, free birthday/child/senior lift tickets should proceed to Bear Mountain or Snow Summit Guest Services for more information about product pricing and availability.

2020/21 SEASON PASSES

BBMR is committed to making this winter worry-free for our passholders by offering several options to provide peace of mind for the 20/21 season.

Adventure Assurance: Provides flexibility for the 20/21 season by offering eligible BBMR and Ikon Pass holders the option to defer the purchase price paid of their unused 20/21 pass to the 21/22 season. 20/21 BBMR passholders may elect to defer on or before Dec. 10, 2020, while 20/21 Ikon Pass holders may elect to defer on or before April 11, 2021.

Pass Preserver: BBMR season passes are non-refundable and non-transferable, therefore we highly recommend adding Pass Preserver to your season pass purchases to insure against many unforeseen circumstances that may arise.

LIFT TICKETS, RENTALS, & LESSONS

Lift ticket, lesson, rental, or activity reservations may be cancelled up to 3 full days prior to the scheduled date for a full refund. Changes or cancellations made within 3 days, up until the day prior to the scheduled date, will result in an Activity Change Voucher being issued for the full value of the activity cost (no fee). Same day changes or cancellations of your activity will result in a full forfeit of your payment.
