If you want to experience alpine good times but don't ski or snowboard there’s still plenty to do at Big Bear Mountain Resort (BBMR) this winter, from family-friendly activities to free events. Here are some non-skiing things to do at Bear Mountain and Snow Summit.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Big Bear Mountain Resort does not offer any general recreation areas and winter non-lift uphill access is not permitted at any time. Guests attempting to access lifts and trails or participating in on-hill activities without a valid lift ticket or season pass may be subject to disciplinary action, including suspension or revocation of lift privileges and removal from the resort.

Using ski area facilities without payment or attempting to resell a lift ticket is a violation of California Penal Code 537, clause B.

Fun in the Sun (Deck)
Bear Mountain's famous sun deck is the perfect place to check out the action in The Scene, or enjoy your favorite beverage. Following the Bear Mountain mantra of “go big or go home”, the deck was recently expanded from 13,000 square feet to over 25,000 square feet, giving guests even more opportunity to enjoy one of the industry’s best après scenes. The new deck spans over 350 feet, making it larger than a football field, with 3 new fire pits, over $250,000 in new furniture, and custom-built bench seating along the entire slope edge.
