As we prepare for another winter of alpine good times, Big Bear Mountain Resort will be launching several new products and services in 22/23 designed to enhance our guests’ experience and help them get on the slopes faster. See below to learn more about what’s new for the upcoming season.

Laybacks Bar
Anyone who has been to Bear Mountain in the winter knows that Laybacks is the place to be when the flakes are flying or the sun is shining. In keeping with its 'après all day' vibe, Bear Mountain's most well-known watering hole received a $2 million revamp over the summer, featuring radiant flooring, outdoor heaters, and an indoor-to-outdoor bar that will allow our amazing servers to accommodate guests on the sun deck and inside the main lodge. Don't worry, we're also increasing the size of our storage coolers to keep the alpine good times flowing all season.
Bear Mountain Rental Shop
Not to be outdone, the Bear Mountain Rental Shop underwent a $1.2 million offseason overhaul, including a new floorplan, more efficient equipment storage, and a revised check-in process so guests can grab their gear and get on the slopes faster.
Guests will now be fitted for their ski or snowboard boots on a new step-through ramp with all gear stored on Reichman racks so our skilled rental techs can easily adjust or exchange your equipment.

Slopeside Refresh
Snow Summit's Slopeside building, located on the west side of the base area below Chair 2, underwent a full facelift, with rebuilt framing, new Trex decking, and a remodel of The Patty Shack (formerly Driftwood BBQ).
Base Area Deck
Be sure to check out the new deck in the Snow Summit meadow area below Chair 1 during your next visit. Completed in summer 2022, the new area is the perfect place to play a game of cornhole, and enjoy a bite from Bighorn Smokehouse, or grab an ice cold Coca-Cola after your last lap of the day.
Remote Parking Lots
This winter, BBMR has added a remote parking lot on Sandalwood Drive. Please note, remote lot availability is based on guest/vehicle volume with free shuttle service to/from the Bear Mountain and Snow Summit base areas.

Moonridge Road Roundabouts
If you’re heading to Bear Mountain this winter, be aware that the section of Moonridge Road between Elm Street and Club View Drive has undergone several updates, including new pavement, drainage conditions, biking lanes, sidewalks, lighting, landscaping, and most notably 2 traffic roundabouts.
Parking staff will be on-site to direct traffic on select dates, but guests should exercise caution, especially in snow or icy conditions.

Food Options
We're excited to announce several new dining options at both mountains. At Bear Mountain, enjoy made-to-order ramen at R & R Station and fresh takes on BBQ favorites at the Outlaw Bar & Smokehouse, or head to Snow Summit to try a mouthwatering wagyu burger at The Patty Shack.
Self-Checkout Stations
We’re taking grab ‘n go to a whole new level at Bear Mountain, with self-checkout stations available at multiple dining locations, including Nollie's Pizza, R & R Station, and more. Just scan, pay, and go.

Mobile Food Ordering
Save time and order from select dining locations at Bear Mountain and Snow Summit this winter on the BBMR mobile app. BBMR and Ikon Pass holder discounts can be applied through the app.
Updated Webcams
Get ready for new webcams at both resorts this winter. At Snow Summit, the new base area and slopeside webcams are now live, with additional cams scheduled to be installed during the season. Bear Mountain cams will be available after all renovation projects are completed and the Wi-Fi networks are restored to full strength.
