Registration is free and open to the public. Onsite registration will only be available on the day of the event, limited space, spots will fill up quick. All participants must sign a waiver (guardians are required to sign for minors). Because this is an on-snow competition, a valid day lift ticket or season pass is required.

Head to Bear Mountain on Saturday, April 4, 2026 for Southern California's most bodacious springtime bash aka Bear Break. Break out your raddest retro gear and send it in style at SoCal’s best springtime bash, featuring a pond skim, retro fashion show, and live entertainment. Come celebrate the season and enjoy the regions’ best snow conditions and most rideable terrain, with vendor activations in the base area and prize giveaways.

Valid lift ticket or season pass required to participate in pond skim.

Big Bear Mountain Resort reserves the right to refuse or disqualify contest participants at any time. Parental discretion is advised for all live entertainment. Registration for the fashion show and pond skim are limited, with availability on a first-come, first-served basis. All events are subject to change.

    • Event Rules
      Please read carefully as the following rules apply to all Bear Break contests:

      • Pond Skim: Valid lift ticket or season pass required.
      • Retro Fashion Show: No lift ticket or season pass required.
      • Participants must be present at the designated contest time and may not be under the influence of any intoxicants.
      • All outfits and props must be in good taste and provide appropriate body coverage and proper support.
      • Obscene gestures, offensive language, and other inappropriate conduct will result in immediate disqualification and possible removal from the resort.
      • Participants are responsible for any property damage or injuries caused as a result of their outfit, props, and on/off-hill conduct.
