Elevate your 4th of July at Above the Boom, featuring panoramic views of the Big Bear Fireworks Spectacular. Enjoy a roundtrip lift service on the Scenic Sky Chair, live entertainment, dinner, family-friendly activities and more then make your way to the viewing area to watch the fireworks from the top of Snow Summit (elev. 8,200 feet).

Event Schedule

8:30AM: Main ticket windows open for reservation pick up
5:30PM: Chair 1 open for guest loading, food service begins
7PM-9PM: Live entertainment at the top of Chair 1 & firework viewing area
8:30PM: Food service ends
9PM (approx.): Big Bear Fireworks Spectacular
9:45PM: Event conclusion; guests return to base area on chairs 1 & 2

Requirements

The purchaser must present a valid physical government-issued ID and the form of payment used to purchase the reservation at time of check in. Check in at the Snow Summit ticket windows to pick up your ticket(s) starting at 8:30AM on July 4.

To purchase, start by selecting July 4 in the calendar picker below and click 'search dates'. Click 'add to cart' and check out or continue shopping. If you're purchasing multiple tickets, simply click "Add to Cart" for each ticket you need. When you've added all of your tickets, click the cart in the upper-right corner of the page to begin checkout. During checkout, you'll enter the name and information for each person to whom you'd like to assign a ticket.

Your cart will display two items per event ticket: one (1) Above the Boom and one (1) food. These appear as separate line items at checkout to comply with tax requirements.

This event has sold out. Event tickets are no longer available to purchase online, in the call center, or in person. Guests that have already secured their spot for the event may pick up their tickets at 8:30AM at the Snow Summit ticket windows on July 4. Chairs will start loading at 5:30PM. Personal chairs are allowed if they can be carried for a 10-15 minute ride on the chairlift.

Live Entertainment

Kick off the evening with beats from DJ Slipmatt starting at 5:30PM, before enjoying a live dining performance by Eric Roebuck at 7PM. It's the perfect way to settle in as the alpine glow dims leading into the firework spectacular that will light up the night sky.

Petting Zoo

Enjoy a few of Mother Nature's furry creatures and stop by the newest activity addition during your mountaintop evening visit. The petting zoo will host a full lineup of animals including goats, sheep, chickens, ducks, rabbits, a pig, a tortoise, an alpaca and a miniature horse.

Big Bear Sports Booth

Rock red, white, and blue at Above the Boom. Big Bear Sports will have a booth to offer BBMR-branded apparel for guests to purchase. Pass holders receive discounts on retail.

Be Prepared, Plan Ahead

Reserve tickets online ahead of time, and beat the crowd with ticket windows opening at 8:30AM day-of for reservation pick up. If over 21 purchasing alcohol, bring a physical government-issued ID with the credit card used to purchase the reservation.

It can get chilly at 8,200 ft in the sky, dress in layers, and enjoy the show.

Can I bring my own food with me when I watch the Fireworks show?

No outside food or drink allowed.

Dog Policy & Service Animals

Pets are not permitted at the Above the Boom event. Service animals are welcome; however, only service animals weighing 20 pounds or less are allowed on the chairlifts and must be transported in a front or back carrier. Guests must remove the carrier before entering the lift terminal, carry both the service animal and carrier into the loading area, keep the carrier on their lap during the chairlift ride, and carry it beyond the unloading ramp before putting the carrier back on.

Guests with service animals weighing more than 20 pounds may take a scenic ride to the top via our ADA-accessible van. Please meet at the Adventure Academy, the first building on the left as you enter the Snow Summit parking lot. The ADA van will begin loading at 5:15PM and will make its final trip at 7:15PM. Please arrive early to allow ample transportation time before the fireworks begin so you can relax and enjoy the show.

ADA Transportation

Guests in need of assistance may take a scenic ride in our ADA van to the top to enjoy all the firework fun! Meet at the Adventure Academy, when pulling into Summit parking lot it’s the first building seen directly on the left. The van will start loading at 5:15 p.m. and stop loading at 7:15 p.m. Arrive early to ensure plenty of transportation time before the fireworks start and enjoy the show!
