Night Sessions are offered at Snow Summit and Snow Valley on select dates, with access to beginner- and intermediate-friendly terrain. Dates, terrain and operations are subject to change at any time based on weather, snow conditions and other operational factors. Bear Mountain does not offer Night Sessions.

    • Night Session Dates
      Night Sessions are a limited-time winter experience, offered on select dates from December through March. The schedule typically kicks off on weekends, with additional midweek sessions added during peak and holiday periods. Since nighttime operations depend on snow coverage and mountain conditions, dates may change throughout the season, so check the schedule and plan your night on the mountain.

      What Night Riding Feels Like

      If you've never skied or snowboarded at night, expect a different feel from your daytime laps. Snow Valley and Snow Summit are known for their sunny days and warmer daytime temperatures. Once the sun disappears and temperatures drop, the snow surface can firm up quickly. That means conditions can change as the evening progresses, just like they can during the day. Some nights deliver fast, firm corduroy. Others offer softer snow. Mother Nature makes the call.

      Whatever the conditions, ride within your ability, stay aware of changing surfaces and check the latest conditions before you head up.

      A Little Mountain Magic After Dark


      Night Sessions aren't just about skiing and snowboarding. It's about the atmosphere. The glow of the lights. The cold air on your face. The sound of your edges cutting through the snow. The stars overhead. That feeling when you pull into the lift line for another lap and realize you could keep going all night. Night Session trails are lit from top to bottom, but keep in mind that lighting can vary along the trail, and natural surroundings may create darker areas.

      Night Grooming


      During Snow Summit's Night Session evenings, the team may perform a night groom on Westridge around 5:30PM–6PM, but only when Lower Westridge is open. When Lower Westridge is operating, the team will close and sweep Westridge from top to bottom, including Zzyzx, before grooming equipment enters the area. Once complete, grooming crews move to closed terrain to prepare additional runs for the following morning.

      There is no pre-Night Session grooming at Snow Valley.

      For your safety, never enter a closed run. Grooming equipment and other heavy machinery may be operating on closed terrain.
    • Parking
      Night Sessions begin at 3PM. Parking is free for Night Session guests at Snow Summit after 2PM and Snow Valley after 6PM with a valid Night Session reservation. Night Sessions end at 8:30PM, and parking lots remain open until 9PM.

      Lift Ticket Holders Parking at Snow Valley

      Snow Valley exclusively provides upper lot parking, without any free offsite parking alternatives. On certain days, if you are arriving before 6PM, you will need to purchase a Snow Valley parking ticket. Option to buy in advance online or to pay onsite with a parking attendant.

      Pass holder Parking
      This section focuses on season pass holders, not premium parking pass holders. The 26/27 season pass holders include Ikon Pass, Ikon Base Pass, BBMR Anytime, BBMR Midweek, and Snow Valley Anytime season passes.

      On select dates, paid parking is in effect at Snow Valley and Snow Summit, meaning all base area lots will require a fee. However, season pass holders can enjoy free parking at Snow Valley, even on days when paid parking is in effect, as there are no offsite lot alternatives. Please refrain from purchasing a Snow Valley parking ticket online, and be sure to have your season pass ready before approaching the parking attendant.

      For season pass holders parking at Snow Summit before 2PM, parking in the base area lot will not be free. You will need to park in offsite lots and take a free shuttle to the mountain, unless you choose to pay the fee to park closer to the lifts or wait until after 2PM. Just be sure to catch the bus quickly after Night Sessions end to shuttle back to your car if you park in the remote lot.

    Ikon Session Pass holders may access Night Sessions at Snow Valley and Snow Summit, provided they have enough points on their pass to do so. Ikon Session Pass points are deducted based on the date of use, not the day part.



    Example 1: An Ikon Session Pass holder that skis/rides at Snow Valley, Snow Summit and/or Bear Mountain during the day as well as during a Night Session at Snow Valley and Snow Summit on the same date will have one (1) point deducted for the entire day + night.


    Example 2: An Ikon Session Pass holder that skis/rides at Snow Valley, Snow Summit and/or Bear Mountain on one day and then only skis/rides during a Night Session at Snow Valley and Snow Summit on a different date will have one (1) point deducted for each date of use (2 points total).

    Guest Planning Responsibility
    Lift tickets purchased in advance are date-specific and are not a guarantee of specific weather, snow conditions, terrain conditions, or overall mountain experience. Guests who purchase tickets months in advance are responsible for checking current conditions leading up to their visit and making informed decisions based on the conditions at that time. Lift and trail status may change throughout the day due to weather, safety considerations, operational needs, and other factors beyond our control.

    No Refunds Day-Of or After Your Visit
    No refunds on the day of or after your visit. Snow conditions, weather, or terrain availability are variable and subject to change throughout the season. For the most current information on lift and trail status, snow conditions, and more, please check out theMountain Report.

    Refund & Cancellation Policy 3+ Days Prior
    Guests may change or cancel lift ticket, lesson, rental, or activity reservations up to 3 full days prior to the scheduled date for a full refund. Changes or cancellations made within 3 days, up until the day prior to the scheduled date, will result in an Activity Change Voucher being issued for the full value of the activity cost (no fee). Same-day changes, cancellations, or failure to show up to your activity will result in a full forfeit of your payment.

    Before making a purchase, please review the Activity Change & Cancellation Policy page for complete details on what is refundable and non-refundable. PLEASE NOTE: The purchaser must be present and provide a valid physical government-issued ID and the form of payment used to purchase the reservation at time of check in. No exceptions

    Once you make a purchase, if those funds are removed from Big Bear Mountain Resort's account and given back to you, your purchased tickets will become void and irredeemable for entry. Fraudulent attempts to force a bank or credit card chargeback by claiming you didn’t make the ticket purchase or can’t identify the purchase on your bank statement will result in being barred from attending future events hosted by Big Bear Mountain Resort.
    Gift Cards, ACV & other Forms of Payment
    Gift Cards, Pass Holder Discounts, Pass Cash, and Activity Change Vouchers cannot be applied online at this time. These forms of payments can only be used in-person or by calling 844.GO2.BEAR. Credit card tokenization is the process of de-identifying sensitive cardholder data by converting it to a string of randomly generated numbers called a "token." Similar to encryption, tokenization obfuscates the original data to render it unreadable in the event of a data breach or other exposure. If you are having issues with your card, please call your bank directly.

    Policy on Purchases & Age Verification
    Anyone found purchasing child tickets for personal use as adult tickets will be deemed engaging in fraudulent activity. Big Bear Mountain Resort is committed to rigorously enforcing the utilization of tickets in accordance with their designated age categories. Any patrons discovered using tickets intended for a different age category will be promptly escorted from the resort and may incur additional consequences, potentially including a ban from future visits to Big Bear Mountain Resort. The purchaser must present a valid physical gov-issued ID and the original form of payment used to purchase the reservation at the time of check in for all reservations.

    Avoid Fraud
    All lift tickets and season passes are issued for personal use only and are non-transferable. Each access pass may only be used by the individual whose name is associated with it. Using another person’s access pass, or allowing someone else to use your access pass, is considered fraud and is illegal. View more on-hill rules and guidelines on the Mountain Safety page. Lift tickets are non-transferable and are not for resale. Violators may be prosecuted under California Penal Code 537 PC. To ensure the safety of our guests and employees, all ski, snowboard, and bike lessons at Big Bear Mountain Resort must be booked with a certified, BBMR instructor. Anyone found offering/selling or purchasing a 3rd party/non-BBMR lesson at BBMR will forfeit their resort access, including lift privileges, and be subject to prosecution, pursuant to California Penal Code 537 PC.
