SUMMER OPERATING COVID-19 GUIDELINES

Big Bear Mountain Resort is excited to announce the Summit Bike Park will open for the Summer 2020 season with daily operations starting on June 12, 2020. Plan ahead by purchasing a season pass or lift tickets.

As the Coronavirus (COVID-19) has become a global public health issue affecting people around the world and close to home, Big Bear Mountain Resort wants to reassure our valued guests that your health, safety, and well-being are of the utmost importance to us. To provide a safe and healthy environment for our guests, we have developed an operating plan that adheres to the CDC's COVID-19 guidelines and will be reviewed/revised as conditions permit.

Please review our updated summer operating plan below before booking your next outdoor adventure and be sure to check back for additional updates, including hours of operations, social distancing and more as they become available.

To expedite the check-in process, we highly recommend completing your liability waiver at least 24 hours prior to your scheduled arrival.

  • Anyone exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms or other contagious illness should refrain from visiting the resort until they are treated and approved by a medical professional. Existing lift ticket, lesson, rental or activity reservations may be changed or cancelled up to 3 full days prior to the scheduled date.*
  • To comply with multiple state and county public health and safety organizations and the CDC guidelines, anyone 65 years and older, those living in nursing homes or long term care facilities, and people with underlying medical conditions should refrain from visiting the resort until further notice.
  • Please wear a face mask/covering throughout your visit.
  • Wash your hands frequently and practice responsible hygiene during your visit.
    • Use hand sanitizer as an alternative when washing isn't available.
    • Cough or sneeze into a tissue or cupped elbow. Place tissue into a designated trash receptacle after use and wash your hands or use hand sanitizer immediately after.
  • Practice social distancing by maintaining at least 6 feet of space from others at all times.

Bike Park lift tickets and season passes may be purchased online, by email, or by calling 844.GO2.BEAR. To expedite the check-in and payment process we highly recommend purchasing a 2020 Bike Park Season Pass or Quad Pack to get direct-to-lift access.

Snow Summit is expected to operate daily thru Labor Day, Sept. 7, before switching to weekend-only operations through the end of the season on Oct. 10. View hours of operations.

NOTE: Any cancellations or changes must be made by phone, email, or our online chat feature. We kindly ask for your patience as we will be operating with a limited guest services team. Bike Park season passes are non-refundable and the Activity Change & Cancellation Policy does not apply.

Lift tickets and Basecamp activity passes will be available for purchase at the main tickets windows in the Snow Summit base area with designated waiting areas marked to ensure guests maintain proper social distancing during the check-in process.

HIKING TRAILS


Snow Summit offers a true alpine setting with Ponderosa pines, mountaintop vistas, and a lake view. With two dedicated on-site hiking trails – Mountain Top Loop (1 mi.) and Bobsled Trail (2 mi.) – these trails provide access to over 60 miles of travel throughout the Big Bear Valley. Hiking is free and open for public use.

Basecamp activities – including the climbing wall, Euro Bungee trampoline, zip line, Quick Jump free fall, Grizzly Ridge Tube Park, and Summit Mining Co. – will be unavailable until further notice. Please check back for updates. The Scenic Sky Chair, located at Chair 1, will be open with amended seating capacity to adhere to social distancing guidelines.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, this year’s Crafts N Cranks festival will be postponed until 2021. Other annual summer events such as Above the Boom, Summit Series, Spartan Race, Hot Dawgz & Handrails, and the Fox US Open of MTB are still under review. Please check back for updates.

TUNING & REPAIR SERVICES


Bike repair services – including brake bleeds, tuning derailleurs, cable adjustments, and tire replacements – will be available at the Snow Summit Adventure Academy during operating hours on a first come, first served basis. All bikes must undergo a free sanitizing wash before being serviced.

To ensure the safety of our guests, employees, and community, BBMR is taking all necessary precautions to open and operate the Summit Bike Park during the 2020 summer season in accordance with state and county health guidelines, and will continue to do so as conditions permit.

NOTE: Season lengths may vary annually and are subject to change based on weather conditions, guest wellbeing, and other extenuating circumstances.

SEASON PASSES


Summit Bike Park season pass purchases are non-refundable and do not include a minimum season duration guarantee. If Summit Bike Park is forced to close, 2020 passholders with 5 or fewer uses will receive a rollover credit for the 2021 summer season. Passes with 5 or more uses will not be issued any rollover credit.

LIFT TICKETS


In the event that chairlifts are forced to close, all lift ticket, rental, and lesson reservations made via BigBearMountainResort.com, 844.GO2.BEAR, or in-person are eligible for a 100% refund with no cancellation fee, up to 24 hours prior to the reservation date. Please call 844.GO2.BEAR or email info@bbmr.com for questions regarding upcoming reservations. We may experiencing high call volumes during this time and appreciate your patience. Email requests will be reviewed in the order received and may take up to 72 hours for response. Please specify if you would like an Activity Change Voucher or refund.
