Whether you're new to snow sports or looking to try the latest high-end demo gear, Big Bear Mountain Resort is your one-stop shop for equipment rentals. With convenient lift and rental packages, plus pick-up locations in the Bear Mountain and Snow Summit base areas, you'll save time and money renting from us. Online rental reservations must be reserved at least 1 day prior to arrival. Guests may buy day-of at the ticket windows if the equipment is still available. Get the best deal when you add a lesson or lesson + lift ticket to your rental reservation.     • Packages

      To be sure you have all the gear you may* need, book a rental package that includes snowboard, boots, and bindings for a snowboard package and skis, boots, and poles for a ski package. Please note that packages include gear only and do not include a lift ticket. A valid lift ticket or season pass is required for lift and terrain access at Bear Mountain and Snow Summit.

      Equipment rentals are valid for all-day use on the date(s) of the reservation.

      DEAL ALERT: On select dates, you’ll receive a free Friday night session lift ticket to shred that same night until 8:30PM if you pick up your pre-booked Saturday full-day rental reservation on Friday after 3PM. Restrictions apply. Learn more about this deal.

      Beginner rentals feature equipment from previous seasons such as the 2019/2020 or 2020/2021 winter seasons. Beginner rentals are recommended for entry-level or first-time guests with minimal ski/snowboard experience.

      If you already have boots but want to check out a new board or skis, Big Bear Mountain Resort rental shops offers snowboard or skis + poles only rentals so you can try before you buy.

      Snow Pants

      $20 per day

      Snow pant rentals are available, subject to availability. We strongly recommend wearing water-resistant pants while skiing or snowboarding.

      Note: Snow pants must be rented in person and are not available for online reservations. BBMR does not offer jacket or glove rentals.

      Stay safe on the slopes by adding a helmet to your rental package during check out or a la carte. To reserve, either add on to your package during checkout for $10 or book a la carte for $20.

      Child sizes: 8-13

      Standard rental is Burton for snowboards and Head for skis. Demo ski rentals include Head, Rossignol, K2, and Salomon. Demo snowboards include Burton, Arbor, Bataleon, and Mervin.
      NO - Big Bear Mountain Resort does not offer any jacket, goggles, or glove rentals, but Big Bear Sports does carry a wide selection of outerwear, accessories, and branded apparel.
      YES - Guests may exchange rental equipment on the day of their rental reservation, subject to availability and any costs associated with the exchange.
      YES - Guests may upgrade their rental equipment on the day of their rental reservation, subject to availability and any costs associated with the upgrade.
      Overnight lockers are available for rent in the locker rooms on a first come, first served basis. Space is limited.
      Processing times vary based on guest volume, staffing, and equipment availability, therefore we recommend allowing at least 1 hour to pick up your equipment. Allow additional time for weekends and holidays or if you have a lesson scheduled.
    Gift Cards, Pass Holder Discounts, Pass Cash, and Activity Change Vouchers cannot be applied online at this time. These forms of payments can only be used in-person or by calling 844.GO2.BEAR.

    Credit card tokenization is the process of de-identifying sensitive cardholder data by converting it to a string of randomly generated numbers called a "token." Similar to encryption, tokenization obfuscates the original data to render it unreadable in the event of a data breach or other exposure. If you are having issues with your card, please call your bank directly.
    Skiing, snowboarding, mountain biking, and other outdoor activities have inherent risks that may result in property damage, personal injury, or death. GUESTS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR OWN SAFETY AND ASSUME ALL INHERENT RISKS ASSOCIATED WITH PARTICIPATING IN OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES. All guests must follow the Big Bear Mountain Resort rules of conduct and NSAA Responsibility Code. Visit the Safety page for complete details. Lift tickets and season passes may be suspended or revoked without refund at any time for failure to comply with resort rules, misconduct, nuisance, reckless behavior, or fraudulent use. Anyone attempting to use a lift ticket or season pass fraudulently or in a manner for which it is not intended is subject to prosecution under California Penal Code 537(b).     Guests that purchase lift tickets, equipment rentals, and/or lessons in advance can skip the ticket windows by following the instructions in their confirmation email.

    If for any reason you are having issues with your reservation onsite and need assistant at the ticket windows, the purchaser must be in-person at time of redemption and present the following:

    Valid photo ID
    Card used for the purchase
    Confirmation email

    Guests may change or cancel lift ticket, lesson, rental, or activity reservations up to 3 full days prior to the scheduled date for a full refund. Changes or cancellations made within 3 days, up until the day prior to the scheduled date, will result in an Activity Change Voucher being issued for the full value of the activity cost (no fee). Same-day changes, cancellations, or failure to show up to your activity will result in a full forfeit of your payment.

    Lift Tickets

    Lift tickets are non-transferable and are not for resale. Violators may be prosecuted under California Penal Code 537 PC.


    To ensure the safety of our guests and employees, all ski, snowboard, and bike lessons at Big Bear Mountain Resort must be booked with a certified, BBMR instructor. Anyone found offering/selling or purchasing a 3rd party/non-BBMR lesson at BBMR will forfeit their resort access, including lift privileges, and be subject to prosecution, pursuant to California Penal Code 537 PC.
    To provide a safe and enjoyable experience, guests are expected to adhere to all posted safety guidelines, staff instructions, and demonstrate respect for others and the environment during their visit.
