ANOTHER U.S. NATIONAL SERIES RACE IN THE BOOKS AT SNOW SUMMIT

Thanks to everyone who made it out for the Spartan SoCal Beast and Sprint at Snow Summit last weekend (May 19-20, 2018). With a few tweaks from last year's event, Snow Summit was the perfect place for approx 12k+ racers to take on a #SpartanRaceBigBear course with an assortment of technical obstacles with elevations as high as 8,200 ft and a 1,200 ft of vertical drop.

The 2018 course increased in difficulty from last year's course with over 5,500 ft of elevation gain over 12 miles of course. With less running on the existing mountain bike trails and more running on roads and the open ski slopes, multiple obstacles were moved to different locations and we incorporated a double sandbag carry for the elite athletes who were televised on Saturday morning.

We were so excited to have participants and their friends/family attend this event. From vendor booths and free swag to zip lining and competing, this weekend was one for the books.

GARDNER, HAUST WIN FIRST-EVER A+S QUALIFIER AT BEAR MOUNTAIN

Thanks to everyone who made it out for the first-ever Air + Style qualifier at Bear Mountain last weekend. With A+S changing its competition format from Big Air to Streetstyle this year, The Scene was the perfect place for 50 riders to take on a #BearBuilt course with an assortment of technical features, including handrails, kink rails, closeouts, and combo features.

After 90 minutes of intense rail riding, Drayden Gardner and Nate Haust were named co-winners of the Overall and Best Trick categories, meaning both riders will compete at this year’s Air + Style LA festival (March 3-4 at Expo Park) and split the $1,500 prize purse.

Two-time Olympic gold medalist Shaun White was also on-hand to present Drayden and Nate with their awards and spent time signing autographs and taking photos with fans before blink-182’s Travis Barker closed things out with a free concert for the fans.
