Big Bear Mountain Resort to Continue Winter Operations

Posted On: Dec 05, 2020

STATE STAY-AT-HOME ORDER ALLOWS YOU TO SKI & RIDE

Winter operations at Big Bear Mountain Resort (BBMR) may continue under the state regional stay-at-home order announced Dec. 3, 2020.

At this time, BBMR is authorized to remain open for skiing and riding in compliance with the state’s Outdoor Recreation Guidelines. Bear Mountain and Snow Summit will remain open daily, and all 20/21 BBMR and Ikon season passes, lift tickets, and advance reservations will continue to be honored. As you know, anything can still change based on new federal, state or county regulations.

New Operating Guidelines

BBMR has been working diligently since we closed to develop guidelines and operating policies to responsibly operate in a COVID-modified environment. Our operations meet or exceed the state’s requirements while providing the best experience possible and accounting for the wellbeing of our guests, employees, and community.

In addition to requiring guests and employees to wear face coverings and practice social distancing in all public spaces, BBMR has implemented the following policies this winter:

-Limiting daily ticket sales and promoting advanced reservations
-Restricted base area access – all guests must have a valid season pass, lift ticket, or reservation to receive gated entry to the Bear Mountain and Snow Summit base areas
-Enhanced sanitizing protocols
-Reduced chairlift and ski school capacities

-No indoor dining or seating
-Outdoor dining and seating with additional pick-up/grab and go options

#StaySafeToStayOpen

Things may be a little different at BBMR this winter, but we remain committed to operating as long as conditions permit and will continue to provide updates as they become available. We're in this together, so let's all do our part to make sure we have a successful season and keep the alpine good times going. Please review our updated winter guidelines and the CDPH Outdoor Recreation Guidelines before your next trip to help us #StaySafeToStayOpen.
