COLD TEMPS + HIGH WINDS = PRIME SNOWMAKING
Cold temps and high winds may not make for a great picnic, but they’re perfect conditions for snowmaking, which has been ongoing at Bear Mountain and Snow Summit for 48+ hours straight, bringing base depths at both mountains up to 40-48". Forecasts are calling for warmer temps through Saturday before dropping back down with a chance of snow showers starting on Sunday. Snowmaking will continue as long as conditions permit. With the best snow conditions and most rideable terrain in SoCal, there’s never been a better time to make your way to Big Bear Mountain Resort.
This week we have 150+ features, 56 trails, and 26 lifts to enjoy, including Geronimo, aka SoCal’s highest lift-served peak (8,805 feet). At Bear Mountain, check out the all-new setup in The Scene and new Quarterpipe in The Gulch. Hop on Chair 9 and access the brand-new four-pack of jumps on Lower Park Run. Park Staff is working on adding a jump to the Lower Park line and giving the current jumps a rebuild. Central Park will also be receiving a revamp with new features and a rebuild of the jumps. Have you checked out Westridge at Snow Summit lately? It's rocking a new look after a full feature remodel. Big shout out to the Snowmaking team for this week's record-breaking snowmaking! Riders can expect new snow features to be added nightly through the weekend. Come play!
