Weekly Snow Report | Jan. 9, 2020
NEW YEAR, NEW PARKS
Big Bear Mountain Resort is kicking off the new year with tons of fun updates to the terrain parks at both mountains. Come enjoy 180+ features with possible snow in the forecast today between 10AM and 4PM with areas of fog, so be sure to pack those low light snow goggles. Bundle up with extra layers as daytime temps will be in the upper 30s to mid-40s all weekend with sunny skies and bluebird conditions through Sunday.
Despite some warmer temps earlier in the week, Bear Mountain and Snow Summit are sporting prime conditions, with all terrain now open, base depths of 34-40", and plenty of machine groomed corduroy. Our Mountain Operations team is prepping for significant snowmaking through next week, focusing on Westridge at Snow Summit.
PLENTY TO PLAY ON
This week at Snow Summit, check out a new medium jump line along with small jumps and extra small jibs off Chair 9 in the Family Fun Park, plus 2 mini halfpipes for beginners in the Bear Bottom Beginner Area east of Chair 4. Bear Mountain the Red Bull Plaza has some new updates with more technical features catering to intermediate/expert park riders. Check out the latest park action in the first episode of this year’s Sunday in the Park series. Watch Sunday in the Park episode 1
Sunday in the Park is the most popular and longest-running web series in snowboarding, featuring some of the most innovative and influential riders, past and present, to send it at Bear Mountain.
