Weekly Snow Report | Dec. 19, 2019
TWAS THE WEEK BEFORE CHRISTMAS
The holiday season is underway at Big Bear Mountain Resort, with colder temps, extended lift hours, and plenty of family-friendly fun on deck for the weekend. Forecasts are calling for daytime highs in the mid- to upper 40s, and a chance for more snow on Sunday evening. With partly cloudy and breezy conditions expected through the weekend, conditions are prime for snowmaking as we prep for another potential storm system before next week’s Christmas holiday.
Our Park Staff and Snowmaking Team have been putting in the hours to get more terrain open at both properties. The snow guns have been fired up all week, producing safe conditions for new terrain to be used skiers and snowboarders. This week we have 50+ features, 33 trails, and 11 lifts to enjoy. Be sure to check out the Skill Builder Parks near Chair 6 at Bear Mountain and Chair 9 at Snow Summit. Other opening highlights include:
- Lower Log Chute at Snow Summit
- Chair 10 at Snow Summit accessing Perfect Pitches, Sugarpine, and Side Show
- Chair 4 at Bear Mountain accessing Exhibition
- Chair 6 at Bear Mountain accessing Accelerator
- Marion's Tree Doghouse at Bear Mountain
