Weekly Bike Report | Sept. 12, 2019
Posted On: Sep 12, 2019
We’re making history at Summit Bike Park this weekend as the
Fox US Open makes its West Coast debut with four days of non-stop MTB action,
Sept. 12-15. The event is free to attend and features some of the biggest names in the sport, prize giveaways, and more so make plans to be here this weekend.
To get ready for the Open, the Trail Crew spent the week rebuilding the
mulch jump for Saturday’s Best Whip competition and dialing in
10-ply for the Downhill races on Sunday. Construction also continued on the rail jam course for this year’s
Hot Dawgz & Hand Rails, aka the largest winter kickoff party known to man, which will be at Snow Summit for the first time ever on
Sept. 28.
Remember, Summit Bike Park is now open weekends-only (Friday-Sunday) through Oct. 20 and some bike trails in the base area may be affected as we prepare for HDHR, so plan accordingly. For more information, check the
hours of operation and
trail status pages.
Tickets are now on sale for
Hot Dawgz & Hand Rails, featuring
NOFX,
The Vandals, and
The Bronx, plus 50 of the world’s best snowboarders competing in a one-of-a kind rail jam contest
. The Bike Park and base area activities will be open during the event, so come take some AM laps then enjoy some world-class snowboarding and can’t-miss music performances.
