NEW TRAIL ALERT – Big Bear Mountain Resort has received approval from the Forest Service to build a new 1.38-mile double black downhill trail, 10-ply, which will debut later this summer. 10-ply will replace the current Log Chute hiking trail and is scheduled to be completed well in advance of the Fox US Open of Mountain Biking, September 12-15. The hiking trail will be relocated under Chair 1 and wind through the canyon. Additionally, BBMR has received approval to build an upper connector to Pirates trail, which should reduce rider traffic on the Forest Service road.

This weekend's forecast is calling for tan lines and good times, with temps hovering around 70. The Trail Crew has finished refining upper Turtle, with complete top-to-bottom trail access available this weekend on Turtle, Going Green, Miracle Mile, Party Wave, Westridge and Small Wonder. The Crew has also installed a new mini pump track at the bottom of Chair 8 for kids and beginners to learn the basics of cornering, pumping terrain, and maintaining momentum. Chairs 1 and 2 will run Friday from 10AM-4PM, Saturday and Sunday from 9AM–4PM with the addition of Chair 4 on Saturday and Sunday, 10AM–4PM..

If you have groms, ages 8-18, sign them up for this weekend’s Beginner Mountain Bike Camp, and if you haven't yet purchased a 2019 Bike Park Pass, get yours now before prices go up June 17, then head to the mountains for a great two-wheeled weekend.
