100% OPEN

Celebrate the first holiday weekend of 2019 at Big Bear Mountain Resort with the best snow and most rideable terrain in Southern California. Both mountains are now 100% open thanks to the recent snow showers, so come enjoy 400+ acres of skiable terrain. Let's ride!

Forecasts are calling for mostly clear/sunny skies this weekend, with temperatures in the upper 30s to lower 40s and light northeast winds. If you're planning on extending your day with Night Sessions (Friday – Sunday, 3PM-8:30PM), be sure to bundle up as temps are expected to drop into the lower 20s.

Today's Operations Update

The Grizzly Ridge Tube Park will not be operating today (Thurs., Jan 17), but is scheduled to resume tomorrow, Jan. 18. We're open. Check the lift status page for real-time operating info.

Park Updates

Southern California’s only halfpipes are now open to the public. Check out the 4-foot pipe, accessible from off chair 6, near Learning Curve, or the 13- and 18-foot pipes, accessible from Chairs 2, 5, and 9, near Pipeline.

Sunday in the Park

Bear Mountain's Sunday in the Park is the most popular and longest-running web series in snowboarding. It gives a taste of all that's to come from this SoCal shred mecca. Scope the action and get hyped. Watch this week’s series.

Road Conditions

Remember to check road conditions before you head out to see if snow chains are required as conditions can change rapidly. There are 3 ways up and 3 ways home, so plan ahead and be sure to check our road conditions page with real-time updates provided by Caltrans.

Your Season to Learn

Big Bear Mountain Resort is also home to the largest beginner areas and best learning programs in Southern California, with lessons for all ability levels (ages 4+). Whether you prefer a private lesson or learning in a group setting, we’ve got you covered. Lessons can fill up fast, so book yours in advance online to make sure you get the day, time, and instructor you want.

If you’re headed to Bear Mountain, check out the all-new Adventure Academy. The facility, which opened in December, pairs with the Snow Summit Adventure Academy that opened in 2017 to help families with kids ages 4-12 get on the slopes faster. Grab a hand-crafted coffee or signature cocktail from Shred, Shaken & Stirred while your little one learns from the best instructors in the business, or swing by at lunchtime for an artisan wood fire pizza from Flatbottom Dough.
