Snow Summit 18/19 Opening Day Recap
The 2018/19 winter season kicked off at Snow Summit on Friday, Nov. 16, with base depths of 16”-24" and chairs 1 and 8 giving skiers and riders the opportunity to take their first turns of the season on Miracle Mile and the Bear Bottom Beginner Area.
Speaking of beginner areas, did you know Big Bear Mountain Resort has the largest learning areas in Southern California? In the base area, DJ SlipMatt welcomed guests with a live set before giving way to a performance by Alec Johnson in the afternoon and Big Bear Sports gave away limited edition Opening Day t-shirts for all retail purchase of $75 or more, or individually for $25.
The fun continues this week at Bear Mountain, which is expected to open for weekend-only operations (Friday – Sunday) starting Nov. 23 (Black Friday), with daily operations beginning Dec. 7. In the meantime, all Bear Mountain Anytime passholders can use their pass at Snow Summit until Dec. 7. 2018/19 season passes are on sale now through Dec. 22, so get yours today and ski or ride all winter for one, low price.
Lift tickets for Opening Day at Bear Mountain will be $79 for adults (18-64), $65 for teens (13-17) and seniors (65-79). Kids 4 and under and seniors 80+ ride all season for free.
