We're excited to announce that Big Bear Mountain Resort is getting a facelift. We'd like to give a huge thanks to our guests who have provided feedback on our surveys. You spoke and we're listening. That's why we've made major changes at both Snow Summit and Bear Mountain with remodels to our facilities such as: rentals, retail, and more.

Rental Shop at Snow Summit

Project: Newly renovated and relocated Rental Shop.
Highlights:
  • Efficient check-in system which allows guests to purchase tickets, rentals, and lessons at the ticket windows as well as register their complete guest record including their sizes and skill level, required to set their rental equipment.
  • New 3 step check-in process:
    • Skiers and Riders step up on a platform where they will be sized for boot fit and comfort by a designated technician.
    • Enter the helmet station where they have the option to purchase a new helmet or rent a helmet.
    • Receive their ski/snowboard gear.

Big Bear Sports (Retail) at Snow Summit

Project: Newly renovated and relocated Retail Shop.
Highlights:
  • Tri-level shop.
  • New location provides guests with more direct access to all of their essential needs and this winter’s freshest gear.

ADA Parking Lot at Snow Summit

Project: New ADA parking and path of travel from the parking lot through Oakfire Grill, Hawks '52, Restrooms, Locker Room as well to all three levels of Big Bear Sports in its new location.
Highlights:
  • Heated walk ways.
  • Designated parking for ADA.
  • 12 ADA parking spaces 2 of which are Van Accessible.
  • Provides guest the correct access to the resort.

Snowmaking at Bear Mountain

Project: With the terrain expansion in the beginner area, we need to add more snowmaking.
Highlights:
  • Better riding experience for our guests.
  • Better snow coverage through the season.
  • More water and air capacity.

Oakfire (Dining) at Snow Summit

Project: Complete remodel of the service and seating area.
Highlights:
  • Upgraded facility that captures today’s contemporary trend while maintaining its unique alpine lodge vibe.
  • Creative new menu options with a variety of yummy eats.
  • Better flow to get food.
  • Ability to go to restrooms from second floor without going outside.
  • The building endearingly referred to as Summit Inn has been renovated into a three stories with access to all three levels from within the building.

Hawks '52 (Dining) at Snow Summit

Project: Complete remodel of the service and seating area.

Lockers at Snow Summit & Bear Mountain

Project: More lockers have been one of our guests primary requests and we have fulfilled that desire this season.

Beginner Area at Bear Mountain

Project: We're expanding the Learn to Ride area at Bear Mountain. This project has doubled the lesson terrain right in the base area.
Highlights:
  • Larger and better Learn to Ride area.
  • New Moving Carpets locations.
  • No shuttling our beginners to the top of the beginner hill to learn to ski or snowboard.

Moving Carpets at Bear Mountain

Project: Moving Carpet 3 is being removed from the upper learning area and will be transformed into 3 carpets (to make a total of 4 available) in the beginner area.
Highlights:
  • Creates multiple stations in the learning area.

Chair 1 at Bear Mountain

Project: Removal of Chair 1
Highlights:
  • Regrade the base area.
  • Expansion of the base area.
  • Preparation for upgrades to the current lift system.
  • Make the intermediate skiing more user-friendly.
